I turned in my paper right at 5, and my professor observed that my voice sounded like absolute crap. So I told her that I was sick, and a really nice doctor that I went to at the health center said that it's viral, bordering on bacterial, but since I understand the difference between treatment of the two, she wasn't going to give me antibiotics yet.
The doctor wants to see me again tomorrow (Friday), to hear how my chest sounds and, if things haven't improved, to put me on antibiotics. But she did put me on a pill-form cough suppressant (she wasn't going to put me on cough syrup with codeine because of some of the other prescriptions I take).
When my boyfriend picked me up to go out to dinner, he had left something on the passenger's seat. (No, not a ring) One of the reasons he was insistent on running errands during lunch was to go to the local florist to pick up a bouquet of daisies for me. He found out that the local florist has a "cash and carry" deal, so if he wants to get me flowers, and has some cash, he may just pop in once in a while. The deals are apparently really good (like $10.95 for a dozen roses!), too.
Dinner was good, by the way. We went to Texas Roadhouse, which has a 2Fer deal. Two people can pick from some options, and it's $15 for the both. So I got a 6oz sirloin (that was cooked just how I wanted), with steamed veggies and a sweet potato. I was feeling icky, though, so no dessert.
After that, I wanted to go to the LYS (yay Mosaic!) because they had a coupon that expired yesterday, and I needed to get mom part of her Hanukkah present. Kerry also went in to the LYS with me, and helped me pick out some yarn to make my cousin's baby a hat (the baby's not due until February). Somehow, going into the store reminded me that I wanted to e-mail the teacher I observed last Tuesday (that was a doozy of a day...long story) to find out if the French teacher whose daughter was killed April 16 has been back to Blacksburg. If not, I'm going to try to pick up one of the Hokie Healing blankets and bring it to her while I'm on break.
We went home, watched Tuesday night's episode of "House" that we TiVo'd, then Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, a little bit of the republican YouTube debate, and went to bed.
So the rest of the day went a little better. But I still feel like crap because of all the gunk in my head and chest. Luckily, I only have one class today. Then I'm cleaning off my bed and taking a nap.
